It is the summer of 1953, George and Charlotte Hay, formerly a couple of Broadway stars, have taken their run-down touring company to Buffalo, New York. In Buffalo they have the intention of running Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives in repertory. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom:

Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years with guests (nearly all women) returning year after year. Her would-be suitor, Henry Mitchell, a retired chemist, has developed a blue pill called “Venusia,” to increase the libido of menopausal women. Her neighbor, Bud “The Stud” Davis, sees an opportunity when three older women arrive and he gets his hands on a few “Venusia” pills. When the ladies mix up Bud’s Viagra & “the other blue pill”, mayhem occurs.
