After the loss of her family home, Belle Reve, to creditors, Blanche DuBois travels from the small town of Laurel, Mississippi, to the New Orleans French Quarter to live with her younger sister and brother-in-law.  Blanche laments the shabbiness of her sister’s two-room flat and finds her husband loud and rough, eventually referring to him as “common”.  Blanche is in her thirties and, with no money, has nowhere else to go.

Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years with guests (nearly all women) returning year after year.   Her would-be suitor, Henry Mitchell, a retired chemist, has developed a blue pill called “Venusia,” to increase the libido of menopausal women.  Her neighbor, Bud “The Stud” Davis, sees an opportunity when three older women arrive and he gets his hands on a few “Venusia” pills.  When the ladies mix up Bud’s Viagra & “the other blue pill”, mayhem occurs.
